Debbi Wetzels studio overlooks a seasonally changing landscape in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Small village life with pumpkins on front porch, church steeples and crows in the cornfield are what inspire her work. Introduced to acrylics in the 70s, Debbi has found her own way around the medium, and painted on broken pieces of Vermont roofing shingle slate, antique wooden boxes and furniture and has now evolved into canvas originals . Bright , bold colors and sharp lines define the fall foliage, county architecture and telling the story of the countryside that Debbi likes to share in her paintings. Small details such as the pattern on the hanging quilt, fireflies in the nighttime sky, or the trick or treat parade in the village are fun to investigate. Woodzels by Wetzels is the collaboration of husband Adam and Debbi doing art and craft shows for the past 40 years. Now teaching her grandchildren the fun of painting and the adventure of travel.
